Country guide
France combines low tuition at public universities with internationally known business schools and engineering grandes écoles, many of which teach in English. Its aerospace, luxury, technology and hospitality sectors recruit graduates, and France and India have set a target of 30,000 Indian students in France by 2030, from about 10,000 today. Indian graduates also benefit from a longer post-study stay and a five-year Schengen visa for alumni.
MSc management and MBA, luxury and fashion management, computer science and data science, engineering and aerospace, and hospitality management are the programmes most often asked about. Students without French can also consider Classes Internationales, a one-year preparatory programme in France for Indian Plus Two graduates that leads into a degree.
Public universities charge non-EU students €2,902 a year for a bachelor's and €3,950 for a master's in 2026–27, approximately ₹3.2–4.4 lakh. From 2026–27 each university may waive these fees for no more than 30% of its non-EU students, so most students should budget for the full amount. Business schools and private engineering schools charge approximately ₹7–30 lakh per year depending on the school. From 1 August 2026, visa applicants must show at least €877.50 a month for living costs, about ₹11.5 lakh a year; Paris costs more. We check each school's recognition before you apply. Figures are indicative and verified in counselling.
Applications go through the Campus France Études en France procedure, including an interview, before the long-stay student visa (VLS-TS) is issued. Students may work up to 964 hours a year alongside their studies. After a master's-level degree, graduates can apply for a 12-month residence permit to look for work or start a business, and Indian graduates can renew it once for another 12 months under the India–France agreement. Indian alumni who studied in France for at least one semester and hold a master's degree can apply for a five-year short-stay Schengen visa. AceLogic provides documentation guidance; visa decisions rest with the French authorities.
