New Zealand's universities are all public and its qualifications framework is straightforward, which makes it easier to judge what a programme is worth. Class sizes are smaller than in larger destinations, the country is safe, and living costs outside Auckland are moderate. Post-study work rights are clearly defined by qualification level.
Nursing and healthcare, information technology, engineering, business and management, agriculture and food technology, and construction management are the most requested programmes from Kerala.
Tuition is approximately ₹12–24 lakh per year, and living costs approximately ₹10–14 lakh per year, with Auckland the most expensive city. Students must show funds for tuition and living costs when applying for the visa. Figures are indicative and verified in counselling.
The Fee Paying Student Visa is applied for with an offer of place, evidence of funds and, where required, medical and police certificates. The Post Study Work Visa currently allows eligible graduates to remain for a period based on their qualification.
