Christ (Deemed to be University) is one of the most sought-after institutions in Bengaluru, with campuses at Hosur Road, Bannerghatta Road, Kengeri and Yeshwanthpur. It offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across humanities, commerce, management, science, engineering and law.
JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) is a large private deemed university in Bengaluru with campuses in the city and at Jakkasandra on Kanakapura Road. It is known for management, commerce, computer applications, sciences and a strong emphasis on sports and entrepreneurship.
PES University is a private university in Bengaluru known primarily for engineering and computer science. Its main campus is on the Outer Ring Road at Banashankari, with a second campus at Electronic City.
Acharya Institutes is a group of colleges on a single campus in north-west Bengaluru offering engineering, management, commerce, computer applications and allied health programmes. Its graduate studies wing runs industry-linked BBA, BCA, B.Com, MBA and MCA specialisations.

Presidency University is a private university on a single campus at Itgalpur in north Bengaluru. It offers engineering, computer applications, management, commerce, law and design programmes and is a frequent choice for Kerala students.
St. Joseph's University in central Bengaluru grew out of St. Joseph's College, founded in 1882, and became a university in 2022. It is known for arts, science, commerce, management and computer applications in a compact city-centre campus.
Alliance University is a private university in south Bengaluru, established in 2010 and particularly known for its business school. It also offers engineering, law, liberal arts and applied sciences on a residential campus near Anekal.
NMIMS Bengaluru is the Bengaluru campus of the Mumbai-based NMIMS deemed university, located on Bannerghatta Road. It is known for its MBA and for undergraduate programmes in management, commerce, economics and technology.
Sapthagiri College of Engineering is an engineering college in north-west Bengaluru affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University. It offers B.E. and M.Tech programmes in computer science, electronics and allied branches.

Bengaluru combines a large number of universities and autonomous colleges with an established technology and services economy, which matters for internships and placements. The city has a sizeable Malayali community, and overnight trains and short flights make travel home straightforward. Direct trains run from Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Ernakulam and Kozhikode; journey times are roughly 12–16 hours. Flights from Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode and Kannur take about an hour, and overnight buses serve most Kerala towns.
