About
MAHE grew from the Kasturba Medical College founded in 1953 and became a deemed university in 1993. The university town of Manipal, in Udupi district, is roughly 60 kilometres north of Mangaluru and is built around the campus, with hostels, hospitals, sports facilities and student services concentrated in one place. The Mangaluru campus on Light House Hill Road hosts the Kasturba Medical College Mangaluru and several health sciences colleges.
MAHE's strength is health sciences: medicine, dentistry, nursing, physiotherapy, medical laboratory technology, radiography and imaging, optometry and pharmacy. It also runs the Manipal Institute of Technology for engineering, along with management, commerce, communication, humanities, hospitality and architecture. Admission is through the Manipal Entrance Test (MET) for most programmes and national examinations where applicable.
We review your profile and explain which admission route applies to the programme you want, guide you through the MET application and documents, and follow up with admissions until a decision is issued.
